What paying does not buy

Safety is not an upgrade. The post-moult feeding block, the premoult warning, the 24-hour prey check and the water schedule behave identically on both tiers. There is no version of Exuvia that watches your animals less carefully because you did not pay.

What the paid plan buys is capacity and convenience — more animals, photographs, and not retyping a spreadsheet. A photograph is worth something to you and nothing to the spider, which is exactly why it is a fair thing to charge for and a warning is not.

A keeper offering live prey to a freshly moulted spider because of a billing decision would be an animal hurt by a pricing page. We are not building that.

What happens if you stop paying

If your collection fits in the free tier, nothing happens: you become a free keeper and carry on.

If it is larger, you get 30 days in which absolutely nothing changes — enough for a card that expired by accident. After that the account locks, and we would rather be blunt about what that means.

That last one is deliberate, and it is the part worth understanding. If a locked account kept prompting you while refusing your records, it would eventually tell you to feed an animal that had moulted since the lock, from a history you were not allowed to correct. Advice from records you cannot update is worse than no advice. So a lapsed Exuvia goes quiet rather than going stale, and the judgement returns to you.

Paying again switches everything back on immediately, exactly as you left it.

The rest of it

Cancel any time from your own account, without emailing anyone. Full refund within 14 days, no reason needed. Payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record, so Phi Aurum Group (Pty) Ltd never sees your card number. Billing and refunds has the detail, and the terms are the contract.
